Gihan Oraby, Gigi, graduated from Rutgers University School of Engineering in May 2002 with a degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and started working for Combat Capabilities Development Command Armaments Center (CCDC AC), specifically within the Quality Engineering and Systems Assurance Directorate in 2002. She holds a Master’s in Engineering Management from NJIT. In the beginning of her career as a Safety Engineer, she supported the Stryker Program. From 2008 to 2011, she was Chief of the Weapons Safety Office. In 2011, a change in competency area management, she became the Chief of the Medium Caliber Munitions Quality/Reliability/Safety Engineering Branch. From 2014 until 2017, she was the Division Chief for the QE&SA Sciences Division managing over 7 competency and service areas for the Directorate. Her current role is the Deputy Director for the Weapons and Software Engineering Center (WSEC) with in Armaments Center. WSEC is the provider of innovative, safe, and reliable weapon system solutions that deliver warfighter overmatch to current and future threats.

Gihan enjoys helping women improve their education and careers in science, technology, engineering and math fields. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. Gihan has served as the President of Picatinny’s Chapter for Women in Defense from 2015-2017, a 2017 recipient of the Army Women of Color All Star/Rising Star award and well as a 2018 recipient for the for the Community Service Award for Community Service in Government award. She is currently a board member for DreamGirls Initiative, a wife and a mother to four beautiful children, ranging in ages from 3 to 16. She enjoys traveling, volunteering and cheering on the GIANTS and 49ERS, Liverpool and the Yankees.
