Research Interests
Understanding the physical properties of quantum materials represents a frontier research theme in natural sciences and engineering disciplines. A particularly timely topic is the exploration of quantum materials as next generation semiconductors. Synthesis of well-controlled thin film crystals of such systems and electronic transport studies therefore forms foundational aspects and brings a collaborative dimension to scholarship. We are also deeply interested in exploring unique technologies that might benefit from quantum materials such as brain-inspired computing, low power electronics, reconfigurable optoelectronic devices. Themes we work on include:
• Strongly correlated semiconductors for neuromorphic computing
• Adaptive electromagnetic systems
• Synthesis of metastable semiconductors
