Hubertus Franke, Ph.D. is a Distinguished Research Staff Member at IBM T.J.Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights,NY, since 1993. He received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1992 in the area of software engineering and a Diplom Informatik degree from the Technical University Karlsruhe, Germany in 1987 in the area of robotics and compiler construction. At IBM Research he conducts and manages research in the area of computer architecture, operating systems, cloud, HPC and middleware and his work has been recognized with multiple Outstanding Achievement Awards. He is a member of the IBM Academy of Technology, an IBM Master Inventor and ACM Distinguished Engineer and an Adjunct Professor at NYU. He has published over 136 peer review papers and articles and has been issued more than 170 patents.
