Dear all:
We had an outstanding ECE Capstone presence at this year’s inaugural School of Engineering Capstone Expo, with 59 ECE teams ( among 183 total teams ), showcasing their projects.
This year’s Expo was especially notable, as the University President and members of the leadership team visited the ECE exhibits, engaged directly with our students, and expressed how impressed they were with the depth, creativity, and execution of the projects on display.
Feedback from the judges was overwhelmingly positive. They praised not only the technical sophistication and innovation of the projects, but also the professionalism and enthusiasm students demonstrated in presenting their work. Judges who have participated in prior years noted a continued upward trajectory in both the ambition and complexity of the projects. Scores among the top teams were extremely close (e.g., we had 3 teams in the first place! ).
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the judges for their time, insight, and continued support of the capstone program. Their engagement plays a vital role in highlighting and celebrating the accomplishments of our students.
Special thanks to the impactful work of the ECE staff, notably Pam, Kevin, John and Arletta , whose dedication to our students’ success has been exemplary. Thank you also to Cheng, Chris and Sarah for their help with this year’s event. I would also like to recognize our Capstone TA, Maahin, for his excellent work and continued contributions to the program.
Congratulations to our graduating seniors who participated in the EXPO, as well as to their faculty and external advisors. Your mentorship and support are essential to the strength and success of this program.
