ECE Forms & Undergraduate SPN Requests

Undergraduate SPN Requests

General Information

SPN requests will be reviewed in the month before the start of the semester the request is made for. Meanwhile, keep an eye on the course/section you hope to register for in case space opens up that allows you to register on your own.
Please do not email the instructor, SPN requests are tracked and distributed in the order received and if there is space in the classroom by the department.

An SPN will not get you registered for a course that you are missing a prerequisite course for.

Special Permission for Closed Sections and Course Level Restrictions

SPN requests for a closed course, or a course containing a level restriction such as “Senior only”, please use the following link to fill out the Form to make your request. Requests are only accepted through the form (not through email) and responded to in order of receipt.

Closed Lab sections, if a Lab section is closed we are unable to send an SPN to get you registered.  The section is at capacity due to room size and equipment availability.  Please register for an open section and watch for a space to open in the section you prefer.

Undergraduate Non ECE/SOE students. Please complete the SPN request form. First level of approval is required from the Dean. Once approval is granted, SPN's are granted on a first come first serve basis. Note: ECE students are given preference.

Graduate Courses: Please email ecegradprogram@soe.rutgers.edu for an SPN for ECE Graduate Courses (16:332). Note that you will need instructor's permission to register for the course.

IMPORTANT:  
Please do not send requests before registration has begun or before classes have filled up.
We are aware of when classes are full and the stress this causes students with fulfilling requirements and getting your schedule set. We will do whatever we can wherever we can to get you registered. In the case that it is not possible please have a backup plan or alternate course choice.
